Access the UD Network
The UD network is accessible through hardwired ethernet ports in your room or office or via UD's extensive wireless presence.
Requirements for Accessing the UD Network
UD students, faculty, staff, contractors and affiliated groups are required to meet new basic computer security standards concerning operating system patches and antivirus software. The new measures better ensure the security of our campus network and assist us in complying with legal obligations (e.g., CALEA, copyright, etc.).
Information Regarding Out of Date Windows Operating Systems
Microsoft has ended support for several Windows operating system (OS) versions effective July 2010. Microsoft will no longer provide new security or other updates for these versions, some of which were released as long as ten years ago. Computers using an affected OS will be susceptible to the constant barrage of new security exploits developed each day (e.g., viruses, malware, etc.) and should update their systems to a supported version. See Operating System Compliance for details.
