Chairs Collaborative
The Chairs Collaborative is an informal, supportive, and collegial gathering of department chairpersons for the purpose of exchanging information and sharing best practices to improve the effectiveness of individual chairs and to create cross-campus links between departments. E-Learning
The E-Learning Lab supports the delivery of online course materials or technology-enhanced pedagogical methods including the use of Isidore, UD's learning management system.

Faculty Development Committee
The Committee's responsibilities include the development and facilitation of the LTC's faculty development programs. The committee is comprised of distinguished faculty from academic units across the University; committee members generally serve a three year term. Inside the Studio
Inside the Studio offers faculty the opportunity to improve their teaching by experiencing one of their peers “in action.” Several times each term, experienced faculty members are invited to conduct a class session of a course they normally teach with other faculty from across the curriculum serving as their students. The class session addresses skills and information that are fundamental to the presenting faculty member’s discipline. Following the demonstration class, faculty discuss the presenter’s pedagogy and/or the material he or she taught that day. Learn more about Inside the Studio and watch prior sessions >>
IT Training
IT Training provides training on centrally-supported software through the use of instructor-led workshops and online training.

Leadership UD
Leadership UD is a year-long program designed to cultivate leadership capabilities and a leadership mindset among high interest/high potential UD employees. A combination of faculty and staff are nominated by Vice Presidents and Deans to participate. Learn more about Leadership UD >>
Media Arcade
The Media Arcade is a showcase of new and innovative technologies. Students, faculty and staff can enjoy a hands-on learning experience to get up and running with the creation, editing and publishing of digital media. The Media Arcade
is open for walk-in consultations or by appointment.

Midterm Instructional Diagnosis (MID)
Full and part-time faculty can request this mid-semester student learning and instructional improvement process that is voluntary and confidential. Over the years, faculty report improved learning, creative suggestions for change, and higher end-of-semester evaluation scores by using the MID. Student praise the process because it communicates faculty interest in their perceptions and helps to improve teaching. Learn more about MID >>
Research Fellows Program
This seminar involves pre-tenure faculty from across the curriculum who meet during the spring to reflect on and discuss their research plans, learn more about support for research at UD, and hear from speakers addressing research-related topics. Studio
The Studio is an experimental classroom for inquiry-based teaching. Named for John O. Geiger, who served as University Provost from 1996 to 2001, it is a place where faculty try new pedagogies and share their experiences with other faculty in a collaborative and supportive setting. The Studio provides a space for creative learning and teaching, as well as resources to support participants as they develop their scholarship of teaching and widen their repertoire of student-centered learning strategies. Teaching Fellows Program
Faculty in their second to seventh year of teaching at UD are invited to join this year-long community of practice that includes a series of seminars, classroom visitations and conversations about pedagogy. The program is designed to expand participants’ repertoires of pedagogical techniques, encourage self-reflection and connect faculty with colleagues from across campus. Teaching with Technology
In this seminar a community of faculty explore how to employ technology to promote student learning and to develop at least one classroom application of technology. The seminar draws on the resources of the Office of Writing, Research and New Media, the Office of Curriculum Innovation and E-Learning, and Roesch Library. Write Place
The Write Place exists to enhance writing competency across the curriculum for students, faculty, and staff. We strive to create a comfortable, collaborative environment in which learning can flourish. Staffed by graduate and undergraduate students from a variety of disciplines, the Write Place can assist with a wide range of writing challenges. Faculty Exchange Series
The Faculty Exchange Series (FES), hosted by UD's Faculty Development Committee and facilitated by faculty and staff from our campus community, provides opportunities for exploration of issues and topics important to UD faculty. The subjects and topics are generated and hosted by faculty through a proposal process. Topics range from instructional issues to programmatic, curricular, scholarship, or campus life issues— anything that would foster faculty growth, professional development, and enhance quality of work life. LTC Learning Workshops
A series of thematically-linked seminars on critical issues such as the assessment of learning, promoting active learning, the use of technology in the classroom, and supporting scholarship with new library tools. Part-Time Faculty Workshops

Reading Groups
The LTC sponsors semester-long reading groups of faculty and staff who read current books about teaching and learning. Participants receive free copies of the book in exchange for attending designated sessions in the LTC where they share their insights on the texts with their group. Learn more about reading groups >>
Writing Across the Curriculum

LTC Newsletter
The LTC Newsletter is published by the Ryan C. Harris Learning Teaching Center in the fall and spring semesters. It is designed to stimulate understanding and innovations in learning and teaching and focuses on professional growth and development of faculty, along with listing developmental opportunities. Faculty and Leadership Development Library
The LTC has many books on such topics as pedagogy, team-teaching, students and technology. The books are located in the bookcases across from The Blend and can be borrowed by checking them out at the circulation desk of Roesch Library. Accessible Electronic Syllabus Template
Imagine not being able to understand the information in a course syllabus. This Accessible Electronic Syllabus Template is provided to help increase access to your syllabus for all students in your course. Instructions for how to create a new accessible electronic syllabus or update a previous syllabus to make it accessible are provided within the document.
