IC3 - Internet & Computing Core Certification
The IT Training Department is a designated testing facility for two industry recognized certification programs - Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3) and Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS). The Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3) is a series of tests recognized as the global standard for demonstrating digital literacy skills. IC3 includes components on Computing Fundamentals and Key Applications.

Certification provides you with a industry-recognized verification of your computing skills which is great for both career development and continuing education!
Is there any cost to take certification exams?
Yes, to cover the expense of providing the certifications, UDit charges $35 per IC3 exam ($25 per exam for students).
What types of exams are available or required for certification?
Computing Fundamentals: Hardware, software and operating systems
Key Applications: Word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software functions
Living Online: Network and internet basics, email and impact of computing on society
When can I take certification exams?
Since certification tests are proctored, you'll need to register in advance. Please contact the IT Training Department at 937-229-2137 or at training@notes.udayton.edu.
How long does each test take?
You're allotted 45 minutes per test.
I've passed a test, does my certification ever "expire"?
Your certification won't expire, but as updated applications are released (like Office 2007), you'll probably want to get certified on the new versions.
I'm a Mac user; what about me?
IC3 certifications are available for both PC and Mac users.
What's the best way to prepare for certification exams?
UDit Training offers free practice exams that will give you a good idea of your strengths and weaknesses.
