Accounts, Usernames & Passwords
Within 3 business days of arriving at the University of Dayton, either as a new student or a new faculty/staff member, you are given a unique username and password for three accounts:
UD Network (Novell/LDAP) | Lotus Notes E-mail | Lotus Notes Internet
Novell/LDAP Account
Your primary account at the University of Dayton is your Novell/LDAP account. This account enables you to access various services on the UD network including internet, printers, network storage space and more. For more information about your Novell account, go to Novell/LDAP Accounts >>
Username
Your Novell/LDAP username is also your username for your Lotus Notes and iNotes accounts. Look up your username at address.udayton.edu >>
Passwords
Your original Novell/LDAP password is also the original password for your Lotus Notes and iNotes accounts. If you do not know your original Novell/LDAP password, please call the Information Technologies Help Desk at 937-229-3888. A note on password changes: Although these three accounts initially use the same password, they are actually independent of one another. Changing the password for one does not change the others. Your username, however, stays the same.
Lotus Notes E-Mail Account
In addition to your network account, you also have an e-mail account. Your e-mail address follows the format: [username]@notes.udayton.edu. Your e-mail password is initially the same as your Novell/LDAP password. For more information about Lotus Notes e-mail accounts, go to E-Mail Accounts >>
Other UD Accounts
Depending on your status, you may also have access (with a different username/password combination) to:
1. Register: online course registration at http://register.udayton.edu
2. E-Bill: Electronic student bill payment at http://www.udayton.edu/ebill
Register and E-Bill use the following login:
Username: your student/employee ID number
Password/PIN: initially your birthday in the format MMDDYY. For security purposes, this PIN should be changed the first time you access the system.
3. Administrative Systems: Datatel Colleague (student records), IFAS (accounting), and HR/Payroll. These accounts are requested by your supervisor through the IT Help Desk.
You might receive other accounts from your department, as needed.
