Wellness Program

The University of Dayton Wellness Program promotes a healthy lifestyle for faculty and staff through activity-based courses, brown-bag lectures, individual fitness assessments, and screening programs for specific health risks.

The UD Office of Human Resources funds the Wellness Program, which is housed in the Department of Health and Sport Science in the School of Education and Allied Professions.

Each semester the Wellness Program provides a new schedule of classes, activities and screenings. Recent lunchtime topics included "Keeping Your Heart Healthy", "Shake the Salt Habit" and "Health, Humor and Healing". Activity courses included indoor cycling, yoga, co-ed aerobic fitness, Pilates and Zumba. Special events held during the past semester include cholesterol, PSA and blood pressure screenings and body fat testing.

Many of the programs are free for UD faculty and staff while others have fees ranging from $10 to $25.
